• Classical Ballet encourages, musicality, poise and confidence. This artistic form of dance is highly structured and a great form of discipline. Ballet builds co-ordination and precision of light, graceful movements and is considered the basis of all dance styles.

Children can start Ballet at the age of 18 months in our ‘Parent & Toddler’ style Baby Ballet classes on Thursday mornings at the Steven Bicker Hall in Ayelsham. These classes provide the perfect opportunity for you to spend some special time with your little ones. Engaging and sharing with them their first dance steps and encouraging their love of music and movement.

Our little dancers learning development is continued in our pre-school ballet class "Budding Ballerinas and Ballet Boys" where children are gently encouraged to attend class independently with parents close at hand in a comfortable dedicated waiting area, with free tea and coffee whilst you wait.

At the age of 4 our young dancers progress to our Pre-Primary ballet class where we continue to nurture and develop children’s natural love of dance with exercises that capture their imaginations using fun characters, mime, different themes and use of props.

Once children are age 5 they join our Primary ballet class which introduces them to our ISTD Graded Syllabus. Dancers may take their first examination in this grade at the age of 6.

Students are encouraged to progressively work their way up through the grades to Grade 6 and then continue on to the Vocational levels of Intermediate, Advanced 1 and Advanced 2 achieving all examinations approximately by the time they are 18.
