AIM students can take part in much more than their regular weekly class. Opportunities vary by age, style and level, giving students different ways to build confidence, experience and performance skills.
Accredited exams
Progression opportunities include ISTD Ballet, Tap and Modern, alongside Acrobatic Arts and other recognised pathways where appropriate.
Shows and productions
Students can take part in school shows, Theatre School productions, concerts and performances throughout the year.
Competitions and events
Selected students can experience festivals, competitions, local events and community performances across the South East.
Workshops and progression
Masterclasses, boot camps, holiday workshops, theatre trips, audition support and career guidance help students explore what comes next.

At Artists In Motion, dance is about much more than technique. We help students build confidence, creativity, friendships and a lifelong love of performing. Every child and adult is supported to progress at their own pace in a safe, inclusive and encouraging environment.

Where is Artists In Motion based?
Artists In Motion School of Dance is based at AIM Studios, Intex House, Cooting Road, Aylesham, CT3 3EP, near Canterbury in Kent. Families travel to AIM from Canterbury, Dover, Deal, Folkestone and surrounding villages across East Kent.
What ages can join dance classes at AIM?
Classes start from 18 months with Parent + Tot and continue through preschool, junior, senior and inter age groups to selected adult classes.
Can beginners join Artists In Motion?
Yes. AIM welcomes beginners as well as experienced dancers. The admin and teaching teams can help families choose an appropriate class based on age, experience and interests.
What styles of dance do you offer?
AIM offers Ballet, Tap, Modern, Acro, Street and Commercial, Musical Theatre, Parent + Tot, Aerial Academy, Theatre School and selected adult classes, with additional training and performance opportunities.
Can my child try a class before joining?
Yes. Families can book a trial class so a child can meet the teacher, experience the studios and see whether the class feels like the right fit before committing.
